Who is Salli Cohen?
Hi, I’m Salli and I’ve been in a love-hate relationship with policy for over 23 years.
I’ve had the fabulous opportunity of working with the three layers of government, the Aboriginal community controlled and for-purpose sectors, and the private sector.
It’s been exhilarating and it’s been bloody hard. Sometimes it’s been soul-destroying. Though when it works, it’s so satisfying to see a policy come into the world and do its thing, even after all the challenges and changes.
I started The Policy Room because I knew I could do more for other policy practitioners, wherever they are in their career. I’ve worked on some fascinating policy projects in my time, across a heap of areas, but I wanted to help others experience the satisfaction and fulfillment that comes from making a real difference.
And I wanted others to know how to pull themselves out of the mud when it gets tricky (and it will!) and still reach a great outcome. That feels good. And I want you to experience this too.
